I began my transformation to fitness very differently, to say the least. I did not want to lose weight, I did not want to go to a gym and I was an overall skeptic of being able to change my fitness to being better than it already was to begin with. I had always thought of myself as in shape, was able to fit in the clothes I wanted and ate what I wanted when I wanted. I really didn't have any will to do anything different with my life. So what changed?
I was at a wellness expo one day, back in October 2014, and saw a sign that read 'Beachbody'. My fiancé was looking to get back into fitness and I simply pointed out to him a man, whom is now my coach, who was set up behind a desk of what looked like fitness products and other things I didn't seem to understand the full value of initially.
A month passed and I was seeing my fiancé get results and it got me to thinking ... what if I could find something I liked doing? I hated fitness, the idea of doing anything other than a brisk walk turned me off. I shook my head and went on about my life thinking, nah. This isn't for me. Stick to the life you have, Kristy. Then my fiancé got an invitation to be a coach. What??? My fiancé a coach? Well... now I wanted to do that, because I was sick of my job and alright, maybe it wasn't going to be a glorious pay at first, but if I was going to be a coach, I knew I would have to at least attempt finding something to do other than walking and improve my mindset. After all, I could quit anytime, what did I have to lose?
So with great courage, I asked if I could be a coach too. Little did I know, I didn't actually have to be a fitness model, or a nutrition expert or even a fitness expert! I was free to make my own hours and learn along the way. So of course, being me, I signed up. This opportunity has CHANGED.MY.LIFE. I can't even make this up! I have met new people and reconnected with old friends just by this one opportunity. The bond that comes from truly empowering and helping one another is what gave me, and still gives me, that rush of excitement. I could literally go about this for a while, but I want to have the chance to speak briefly about my fitness journey too.
After a few weeks, I was recommended a program, I wanted something fun, something that I could do whenever I wanted. And boy did I get that. Being a yoga and meditation enthusiast, I found a program that not only incorporated yoga, but pilates and cardio as well! The best part is, it is only for 60 days, for 30mins a day, 6x a week! I boldly decided that was what I would start with. That and do whatever everyone else seemed to be doing, which was drinking Shakeology, what we now all call, the healthiest meal of the day. So as I approach the end of my journey with a little less than two weeks to go, I want to show you just a glimpse of what is possible when you take that first step. You won't regret it. I promise.
Have a great day,
Kristy <3!
